WorthDay Petlovers πΎβ€οΈ
Hi, I'm Sin β and this is Sky
Hi, I'm Sin, and this is my best friend and companion, Sky.
In 2022, in Port Alfred, South Africa, I rescued her from a shelter β literally one step before euthanasia.
Sky is now a beloved member of the family pack, serving as a sister to my two daughters.
What started as a last-minute rescue has turned into a story about trust, healing, and real friendship. That's what WorthDay_Petlovers is all about.
Hello, IΒ΄m Sky. Who are you?
π Sky's Journey β from "No Future" to Family
When I first saw Sky, she was
- unsure,
- quiet,
- with eyes full of questions and almost no hope.
Today she sleeps on our sofa, runs with us along the beach, watches over my daughters as their protective sister, and reminds me every single day what it means to save a life β and to receive a new life in return.
As a member of the family pack and my best friend and companion, Sky has become an irreplaceable part of our lives.
On this site I want to
- share Sky's story honestly,
- show what everyday life with her really looks like,
- and explain why I believe animals are not "pets" in the decorative sense β but relationships.
You'll find no perfect, filtered world here β just real moments: fear, progress, setbacks, breakthroughs, and a lot of love.
How I saved Sky from death and how she said THANK YOU touched me deeply
π Our Core Principles at Petlovers
1. Emotion First β Without Illusions
- Sky's journey, the Moscow rescue videos and other stories are the heart of this project.
- We don't claim that an animal is a "magic cure" or a guaranteed health treatment.
2. Species-Appropriate Life for Humans and Animals
- Experimental data from NEXT LEVEL's research base show how massively non-natural, processed food can damage animals over time, versus natural, species-appropriate nutrition.
- Truly loving an animal means caring about natural food, safety, calmness and respect β not just about "cute content".
3. Scientific Transparency
- Where studies exist, we name them β including their limits.
- Where we speak from experience (like my life with Sky), we clearly say: "This is personal, not a clinical trial."
Sky just loves snuggles and belly rubs...
π± Why Animals Touch Us So Deeply
When Sky rests her head on my leg or my daughters fall asleep against her, something happens that's hard to describe:
- the day gets quieter,
- problems feel smaller,
- and there's this simple truth: "Right now, I'm not alone."
Many people experience similar things with their animals:
- less loneliness,
- more structure in daily life,
- a sense of meaning because a living being trusts them.
That emotional reality is at the heart of Petlovers.
Beyond "Cute Content": The Real Impact of Dogs on Human Wellbeing
π¬ What Science Currently Says About Pets & Human Health
I love Sky β and I also care about intellectual honesty. So I want to be clear about what current science can β and cannot β tell us.
π Mostly Observations, Not Hard Proof
In the research base used by NEXT LEVEL, there are strong experimental data on topics like how processed vs. natural food affects animals' health, behaviour and lifespan β e.g. Pottenger's cat study and long-term Rhesus monkey trials, and how chronic load and artificial substances accelerate degeneration and symptoms.
But when it comes to pets as a direct health intervention for humans, most of the available literature consists of observational studies (cohorts, surveys etc.), which show correlations but cannot cleanly prove causation.
πΆ Example: Open-Access Review on Dog Ownership
One open-access review referenced here is hosted on PubMed Central (PMCID: PMC8042315). This paper summarises studies where dog ownership is associated with higher everyday physical activity, more frequent social contact, and better self-reported wellbeing β though the authors highlight these are mostly non-randomised observational data.
Transparent Scientific Stance:
Many observational studies suggest that people living with dogs tend to move more, feel less lonely and report higher wellbeing (for example, the open-access review on PubMed Central, PMCID: PMC8042315). Because these are not strictly controlled intervention studies, we view them as valuable hints β not as definitive scientific proof.
View open-access review on dog ownership (PMC8042315)This keeps Sky's emotional story and the rescue content at the centre β while staying honest about the scientific limitations.

Finding Balance: Why Cuddling With Sky Is One Of The Best Parts Of My WorthDay
π± Rescue Stories from Moscow
Sky is one story. But out there, countless other animals are waiting for someone to notice them.
That's why another focus of Petlovers is on rescue videos from Moscow:
- people pulling street cats out of shafts, basements or icy corners,
- late-night searches because "somewhere out there one more little voice is still crying",
- the exact second when a terrified cat slowly realises: "I'm safe now."
These videos are not about shock or drama. They're about compassion, action, and quiet courage.
Looking away is easy.
Going back for a cat at 2 a.m. is love.
π€ Your Invitation
On WorthDay_Petlovers you can:
- get to know Sky and follow our journey,
- watch real rescue videos β including cat rescues in Moscow β that show what love looks like in action,
- reflect on your own relationship with animals: maybe by adopting or fostering, maybe by changing the way you live with the animal you already have, or simply by remembering how powerful a quiet paw on your lap can be.
This site is my personal love letter to Sky β and an invitation to everyone who feels that animals are not "things", but friends, teachers and fellow travellers in this life.
Time with your pet counts
Make every walk and cuddle count as points.
